5.1 Describe the purpose of sections and details.
5.2 Create a wall section to scale, including labeling and dimensions.
5.3 Generate cabinet sections. Include labeling and dimensions.
5.4 Generate building sections to include labeling and dimensions.
5.5 Demonstrate the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software related to preparing sections and details.

Reflection
The purpose of sections and details is to help present the exterior and ulterior views of the project created and to show any change in materials or and specific things that may be used in the project. They are included in a set of construction documents to make sure the builder of the project can see exactly how the project is to be made regarding final appearance and materials used. The specific materials that are noted on a wall section are the wall materials, the thickness of the wall, and the thickness of the roof. These notes are placed in the section view because if they were placed on the normal views the plans would become overcrowded with info and be too difficult to read to be useful. I met this standard through my creation of my capstone project. In it I made sections for many areas of my house and I did so by using the section tool in Revit, then transferring it to AutoCAD. My future learning goals for this standard are to make sure I can properly use both whole house sections and individual room sections. One thing I still don’t know would be how to quickly transfer to AutoCAD without having to manually change a bunch of lines.

I met this standard through my work in class creating models and using the sections and details to complete my projects. These two pieces of the construction documents are vital in showing the smaller intricate pieces of the larger project. I met the next standard through my work this semester. I changed pre-existing floor plans with small adjustments that required me to create a wall section, label the new design and properly dimension it. I met the next standard through my work on the current project. In order to create properly sitting cabinets they need to be sectioned and correctly dimensioned that way they can be properly installed late in the actual residence. I met the next standard through my work in the past semester. In order to create a complete set of construction documents, building sections had to be created with accurate labeling and dimensions in order to ensure the proper creation of the project in real life. I met the last standard through the accomplishment of all the other standards. The creation of the sections i have done previously have all been done with the AutoCAD software. This standard has real world application because the sections of a building are important pieces of the construction documents created by architects.My future learning goals for these standrads are to be able to execute the creation of sections without flaws.
